This issue discusses general human rights from the perspective of Southern Hemisphere countries. It takes on topics like the concept of human rights, the categorization of economic, social, cultural, civil, and political rights, the role of civil society, reparations for human rights abuses, public interest litigation and the strategies to advance human rights, repression in the US after 9/11, and the problems facing the UN in the current international political system.
