This is a report on the UK House of Commons Committee Stage of the Protection of Freedoms Bill. Significant areas of debate include: DNA retention periods, safeguards on the use of children's bio-metric data, surveillance cameras and crime prevention, wider reform of surveillance law, powers of entry, pre-charge detention, stop and search, provision and challenge of criminal records checks, and data protection.
