This paper analyses the causes of the political gridlock in Greece prior to the 2012 elections, and the implications of the results for Greece, the Eurozone and the EU. The author argues that the election results constitute an important step for Greece towards escaping the danger of descending into political and economic turmoil and possibly drifting away from the Eurozone and the EU. Similarly, the vote gives rise to the hope that more accurate solutions can be found to Europe's problems and that stability can be achieved.
