This is a document-based case study of the 2004 parliamentary election in Iran. Rather than a coherent narrative, it presents a series of chronologically ordered documents that are typical of the sort of information one would encounter in the process of writing an extended research paper on this period in Iranian politics. Part A outlines the basic characteristics of Iran's constitutional structure; Part B provides reports, statistics, and foreign domestic news reports from the period leading up to parliamentary elections on February 2004; finally, Part C considers the possible aftermath of the election.
