This is a transcript of a discussion on the broader perspective of the migration fundamental issues and discusses the challenges and opportunities it presents in the 21st century. Based on the book "Exceptional People", the speakers examine migration through a historical lences, with the big ambition to locate migration in a 100,000-year perspective, exploring the relationship between economic and social development and its impact on migration. The anecdotal evidence the author highlights is that migration create connections between different countries and this has immense consequencies for business and trade, mostly in emerging countries as China and India, for ideas and innovation, and even for politics.
