In this report, the author provides an overview of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and its structure, as well as of FCC-Related Congressional Action. The FCC is an independent federal agency with its five members appointed by the President, subject to confirmation by the Senate. It is charged with regulating interstate and international communications by radio, television, wire, satellite, and cable. The aim of this paper is to offer proposals for procedural and substantive changes of the FCC.
