This report discusses ways to project a more favorable image of the United States in the Muslim world. The authors evaluate focus group research in Morocco, Egypt, and Indonesia, and conclude that although hostility towards the US is intense, there is an opportunity to change minds. They discuss why attitudes towards the US in Muslim countries have changed since the 11 September 2001 attacks, and provide a set of policy guidelines for the US government to establish a new dialogue with Muslims worldwide.
