This paper examines the US Department of Homeland Security's Small Business Innovation Research Program. The program encourages small businesses to provide quality research and to develop new processes, products and technologies in support of the missions of the US government. The authors look in more detail at the Small Business Innovation Research Program at the Department of Homeland Security that was initiated in 2004.
