This note describes the social and political uprisings in Tunisia and analyzes the forces behind the revolutions and the possible implications. The author investigates the recent series of events, such as the economic situation, political corruption and protest movements, leading to the ousting of Egypt's longtime president Hosni Mubarak. It has been argued that Tunisia played a significant role towards democracy of any of the 'Arab Spring' countries.
