This paper examines NATO's Deterrence and Defense Posture Review (DDPR), addressing subjects such as nuclear policy, the role of conventional forces, missile defense, and issues surrounding arms control, disarmament and non-proliferation. The author argues that due to NATO's political mechanisms being deadlocked around the nuclear issue, the US must act more forcefully in its leadership role to promote change in the Alliance's nuclear posture and policy.
