This note explores the role of the EU at the United Nations after the implementation of the Lisbon Treaty and the merging of a stronger, more consistent and visible role of EU in world affairs. The author highlights the challenging role of the EU after May 2011, when the UN General Assembly voted to grant the EU an enhanced observer. It has been argued that it is important to analyze the multi-dimensional perspectives of the EU position in other international multilateral fora and the need of restructuring its diplomatic structure and methods. Ultimately, the author offers a general overview of the reaction of the UK to a EU more effective global policy.
