The note investigates the consequences and the possible development in the political system and social structures all over the Arab World after the wave of uprising on 2011. The Arab Spring represents a microcosm of the problems present throughout the region, starting from the self immolation in December 2010 of a fruit seller in Tunisia. The author identifies common features in the political earthquake in Middle East and North Africa, namely the economic repression and lack of economic opportunity and the lack of support for the authoritarian regimes and its controversial use of the military violence to repress the demonstrations.
