This note examines the development in expanding the ICC Jurisdiction and the future implication concerning the replacement of the ICC Prosecutor at the end of June 2012. According to the author, incorporating a definition of the crime aggression, considered a hard core concept of international crimes, into the Rome Statute was the most important outcome of the first review conference of the ICC's Rome Statute, held on 2010. Moreover, additional amendments expanding ICC's jurisdiction refer to the use of prohibited weapons, the stocktaking segment, the temporary suspensions of ICC jurisdiction and the deferring ICC proceedings. In the coming year, the ICC’s member states will elect a new chief Prosecutor and this could significantly change the approach of the ICC and the way it is perceived.
