This report examines the existing practice and knowledge of humanitarian organizations regarding the special needs of children born of wartime rape and sexual exploitation. The authors conclude that while these children constitute a particularly vulnerable category of war-affected children, their needs have been understudied by researchers and underserved in the humanitarian sector. They often face stigma, discrimination, abandonment and even infanticide. The report closes with a number of recommendations for humanitarian practitioners.
