Publication

From 13-15 June 2012, the NATO Defense College hosted a high-level conference of expert practitioners and scholars to gain insights on the key issues shaping the Transformation Decade and the challenges of building and sustaining an enduring partnership between NATO and the government of Afghanistan. This paper captures the group's most salient points and is intended to inform future discussions between policy makers and the public regarding the level of ambition required to help strengthen Afghanistan's sovereignty and keep it on a path towards self-reliance in security, improved governance, and social and economic development.
