This brief begins by examining the extent to which women and girls in Liberia are victims of crimes and violence in general. It then focuses specifically on the sexual and domestic violence they experience, both in terms of their patterns and characteristics. By delving into gender-based violence as it does, the study seeks to provide an understanding of the human insecurity confronting women and girls in this part of Africa today.
