In the expected wake of Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao's retirement, this brief analyzes the current relationship between China and the EU. The record is undeniably mixed. Mutual trade continues to grow but on assorted other issues, ranging from financial disputes to geopolitical ones, the positions of the EU and China seem to be set on divergent paths. After its launch 10 years ago, the China-EU strategic partnership is indeed ready for an overhaul.
