This policy brief focuses on the rise of drug trafficking across several West African states and the need for international action to help blunt it. Its author argues that the issue has moved beyond the familiar areas of crime, law enforcement, or security and now strikes at the core of the democratic, humanitarian and human rights-centered foundations upon which global governance rests.
