This paper discusses that the Small states in the global system are seeking to organize themselves effectively in the international scene. They face many challenges and constraints but also possess the potential to contribute to better global governance. The author notes Singapore’s role in this regard and examines the contributions of two South Asian small-states, namely Bhutan and the Maldives in the creation of global norms. If present political trends continue, the paper extrapolates that the number of small states will grow.
