This report discusses the regional impact of Muammar Qaddafi’s fall. The author argues that new political order in Libya will need time, institution building and a drastic improvement of security to establish itself. The political vacuum created by the end of the Qaddafi regime has been under-acknowledged, as the crisis in Mali illustrates.
