This article writes in praise of Ghana as a political and economic model for countries across West Africa and the African continent as a whole. Besides being the first nation in sub-Saharan Africa to achieve independence from a colonial power, the country has become the epitome of democracy and good governance in Africa following years of political upheavals. The author writes that other countries on the continent and within the region should aim to emulate Ghana.
