This is an unofficial translation of the Military Doctrine of the Russian Federation, approved by presidential edict on 5 February 2010. This fundamental strategic planning document constitutes a system of the views officially adopted in the state on preparations for armed defense and on the armed protection of the Russian Federation. It reflects the Russian Federation's adherence to the utilization of diverse instruments for the protection of the national interests. The military dangers and threats are described, and Russia's military policy outlined. Finally, the military-economic support for defense is presented. A second, corrected version can be found from page 24 onwards.
