This report analyzes and evaluates the Bulgarian Armed Forces and the status of defense in 2011. The political efforts in the sphere of defense in 2011 were concentrated on fulfilling the aims, objectives and priorities set in other documents on the national security, national defense, the armed forces and defense investments. The most important achievement in 2011 was that the focus of the defense policy efforts was put on the combat capabilities of the Bulgarian armed forces – training, participation in missions and operations abroad and modernization.
