This report examines the water footprint of Switzerland and its globalized economy. It finds that 82% of the water required to produce all the goods and services consumed in the country comes from abroad. The report emphasizes that Switzerland has a shared responsibility in respect to sustainable water management on a planetary level, and proposes a set of recommendations.
