If international relations (IR) is a scientific discipline, then all too often the 'science' in IR is used to police and discipline its practitioners. If you believe this assertion, then you also worry that too many unorthodox methods and analyses aren't being permitted to have their day in the sun. In this interview, Patrick Jackson tackles this problem head-on -- i.e., he questions the 'scienticity' of IR in the first place.
