Water may be an invisible component, but it is crucial to unleash the fuels for power and transportation, and to provide the heat and electricity used throughout the American economy. Energy is also an invisible but essential component for making water available for municipal, industrial, and commercial users. There is an unbroken chain of energy for water and water for energy. Today, however, this circle may be broken if certain realities are not taken into account. This report puts forward a set of recommendations to help manage water-cycle issues, among them continued commitment and dialogue among policymakers, consumers, stakeholders, and companies.
