This paper analyzes the evolution of India's 'Look East' policy and its recent incorporation of the Northeast Region (NER), the only part of India that provides land connectivity to Southeast Asia, into that policy. More particularly, the paper analyzes the reasons behind New Delhi’s reorientation towards this region.
