This paper recaps the establishment of the G8 Global Partnership against the Spread of Weapons and Materials of Mass Destruction (GP) and outlines possible future directions for the program. The author analyzes the successes and shortcomings of the program after three years, and states that initially impressive achievements were outweighed by considerable challenges and implementation obstacles. The paper analyzes the past results and future prospects of the GP program against the backdrop of the rapidly evolving international security environment.
