This edition of Al Nakhlah examines the political thought of the Iranian thinker AbdolKarim Soroush on the encounter between the West and Islam, Iran's support of non-state armed groups in Iraq, and the legal basis for fighting terrorism in Yemen. It also discusses the role customary law should play in the re-establishment of rule of law in Afghanistan, the influence of foreign Arab fighters in the Chechen Wars, and educational reform policy in Saudi Arabia and Qatar. It concludes with an transcript of an interview with Egyptian intellectual Saad Eddin Ibrahim.
