This commentary examines Central and Eastern Europe's changing role in India's external policy agenda. While the EU12 nations have largely played a minor role in shaping the EU's policy vis-à-vis India since the end of the cold war, with many CEE countries having joined the European Union and India as a major emerging power, the time is ripe, the author argues, to open a new era in the relationship. Holding a regional economic summit could be the right step to examine the existing opportunities for trade and investment and push for closer cooperation.
