This paper discusses Kenya's domestic politics in the aftermath of the 2007 political crisis, the country's military engagement in Somalia, and its economic prospects. It warns that the country's positive economic performance could be undone in case of resurging political violence in Kenya. Kenya has been identified as one of the UK Department for International Development’s 27 focus countries in its recent bilateral review, triggering a 72% increase in aid over the period 2011/12 to 2014/15.
