The Antarctic Act 1994 implements most Antarctic Treaty requirements in domestic law and the current Antarctic Bill seeks to implement further Treaty measures. Part 2 introduces a number of new statutory duties on those operating in Antarctica relating to appropriate response action, preventative measures and contingency planning and information.
