Youth unemployment is a key challenge confronting the European and global economies. This brief examines the concept of youth unemployment, discusses some of its main causes and consequences, and provides some solutions for how it can be reduced. The authors assert that youth unemployment poses specific challenges for each country. As such, policymakers need to implement bespoke solutions according to their particular context.
