The results of the 2012 US presidential elections showed which way the various parts of the American populace was leaning. About 93 per cent of African-Americans, 73 per cent of Asian-Americans and 71 percent of Latinos voted for Obama over Romney. This Working Paper explores how some of the Asian and Muslim-majority countries and the West’s fight against Islamic extremism will be affected by the new America envisaged by President Obama.
