This issue contains two articles, the first of which examines the Mediterranean Dialogue. The author provides a brief historical analysis of the strategic importance of the wider Mediterranean theatre and arrives at the conclusion that the European and the American conceptual frameworks are not contradictory. The author of the second article analyzes the role and the influence of the Russian Orthodox Church on Russian society and present day politics in Russia.
