This paper features two articles on the issue of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) proliferation. The first argues that the fight against WMDs is outdated as the development of scientific and technological capabilities, and the inevitable manufacturing of sensitive materials, is often confused. It also argues that the vocabulary to discuss WMD proliferation is inadequate for the tasks at hand. The second article explains why economic models and perspectives need to be adapted to the analysis of proliferation patterns to understand them properly.
