This paper looks at how Hamas has steadily been moving towards a more political stance. The author argues that the change in Hamas’s regional alliances, its growing relationship with Egypt, Qatar and Turkey and its weakening ties to the ‘axis of resistance’ made up of Iran, Syria and Hezbollah are fostering its transformation into a more responsible political player.
