This article looks over the Sino-Japanese relations, with a particular focus at the maritime disputes that oppose the two countries. The author expresses cautious optimism, arguing that the maritime relations reflect a positive pattern of confrontation and cooperation. He further discusses the capacity of both countries to maintain the peace between them.
