This study examines a new element in the recent European integration debate: discussions about the functioning of the European Economic Area (EEA), modes of improving the EEA, its possible enlargement as well as other options to deepen and enlarge European market integration to more (non-EU) countries. It focuses on Liechtenstein and the country's position in Europe's market integration scheme and examines the effect the dynamics of European integration have on Liechtenstein’s strategic environment and options for Liechtenstein's integration strategy.
