This is a transcript of a talk given by Georgia's Minister of Defense, Irakli Alasania. In his speech, the defense minister discusses the implications of the 2012 parliamentary elections in which the opposition led by Bidzina Ivanishvili won a majority of seats. He argues that the unification of all the political opposition was a major precondition for the opposition's success in the elections as was the successful campaigning on the grassroots levels. According to Alasania, the top priority for the new government should be the building back of trust of the Georgian public in the government.
