This paper talks about the leadership transition in China as well as related implications for Poland. The newly elected PRC chairman Xi Jinping, the new prime minister, Li Keqiang, and his cabinet are expected to concentrate on domestic economic and social reforms. At the same time, China’s foreign policy priority is the Asia-Pacific region and relations with the US. The author argues that the leadership change creates a chance for Poland to establish or reinvigorate direct contacts with Chinese local authorities and to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
