This policy brief analyzes Central Europe's economic performance during the financial crisis. The Cyprus banking crisis has renewed speculation that Slovenia could be the next Member State in need of a bail-out. Despite this, the author argues that Central Europe has weathered the crisis better than the EU average and has a chance now to improve its relative economic position in the EU in the mid to long term.
