This commentary addresses the EU-US Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations. The author states that the potential benefits of an EU–US FTA could be substantial for both parties with the greatest value coming from the reduction of regulatory barriers to trade. Negotiators of such an agreement will have to overcome many hurdles, he states, but references to the historical success of the Single European Act could facilitate the process. He concludes that Poland stands to gain from an EU–US FTA, but should ensure that its core interests are promoted during the negotiations.
