This commentary discusses the modernization of India's army and the impact of this development on the international defense industry. India recently emerged as the largest importer of arms. Its ambitious modernization program will offer more opportunities for arms exporters to the country, such as Poland. The author argues that the growing competition in this lucrative market may strengthen the argument in favor of further consolidating European defense industries in order to stay relevant.
