This report analyzes the security trends, scenarios and dynamics in Africa, identifying issues and hotspots likely to manifest in 2013. It does this by focusing on five broad and interlinked regions: West Africa and the Sahel, the Horn of Africa, Central Africa, East Africa, and Southern Africa. The report also comments on the role, power relations and dynamics of the AU and sub-regional organizations such as ECOWAS in the quest for peace and security on the continent.
