This report examines the role of the International Union of Credit and Investment Insurers, also called the "Berne Union." According to the author, although the growth and increased importance of global trade and finance have altered the agenda of the Berne Union over the past decade, the US, represented by the Export-Import Bank and the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), has interests in the Union's functioning.
