This issue of the Perspectives on Terrorism explores a range of issues pertaining to the field of terrorism studies. Topics discussed in in this issue range from counter-narratives to terrorist propaganda, and the use of former terrorists and extremists to reduce terrorist violence, to eight main themes of al-Qaeda's ideology and its narratives and the battle of ideas in the US war on terrorism. In addition, this issue includes three reviews of books on issues of terrorism and counter-terrorism.
