This paper argues that a radicalization of politics is occurring across Europe. Frustration is growing in northern EU countries over the bailouts in the south. In southern Europe, many feel they are being made to pay for a crisis caused by others. The author suggests that populist parties have benefited from these feelings in both regions through an increase in support. This is leading to an undermining of the European project.
