This paper discusses Libya’s militias. The author suggests that there is a reasonable amount of stability within the country in view of the power vacuum left after the collapse of Gaddafi’s regime. Furthermore, the militias have placed their part in this stability. However, if militias refuse to disarm and continue to build up their power once security forces establish themselves, this relative security could be threatened.
