This bulletin discusses the role of the BRICS in global economic governance and their intention to create a development bank. The author suggests that China, Russia, India, Brazil and South Africa are struggling to agree on the basic principles on how the bank will function. She also argues that for the EU and Poland, the fallout from the creation of the bank will depend on what profile the bank is ultimately assigned. However, the failure of the project is unlikely to benefit the EU.
